So I played this game for about 10 minutes and I could already tell something was off. Turns out, A LOT of things are off. To start, the platforming is very inconsistent. I never knew when the character would ledge grab or miss the jump entirely. Next, the parry frames and i-frames from dodging felt extremely tight; more so than seemed reasonable. Might just be a personal problem, but I kept getting hit when I thought I made a dodge/parry. While I'm at it, the cannon seemed to just...not hit a lot of the time. Not sure why, but it was infuriating. Then, you have the problem of the game telling you that some attacks you can't parry; not a big deal; plenty of games do that. Well, some attacks are either indicated by a blue or red flash, which I never figured out the meaning of (clearly they're like the perilous attacks from Sekiro, but these ones had no counter I could find). There wasn't a tutorial that told me what those meant, which seems needlessly complicated. Finally, that intro level shows you at full strength, and afterwards, you lose many of those powers. The fact that this game is pretty simple when you have all your powers, but takes away basic mechanics to then reintroduce later is pointless. I see a good game being here with some work, but as is, it's miserable to play, and I strongly doubt the story is enough to push me through the absolute slough that is everything else.
