This is just a response to Welto76: you aren't required to use the GOG's Galaxy client, you can use the back-up installers under your website account instead. Hover over your username, click "Games" on the dropdown menu, click the picture/icon of the game you want to download, and click on "Download Offline Backup Game Installers". You should see one or more parts and the size (GB or MB) to the right of the name. Download all the parts, then install the game using the EXE file. When that's done, there should be a shortcut on your desktop you can use to play the game. (Do note this though: "...installers don't support auto-updating, nor on-line features.")
The *original* Doom 3 + Resurrection of Evil are now included. I have not tried the GOG version yet, but will update my review (via contacting Support to ask them to edit it) when I do. Just wanted to let people know the originals are now here.
The initial inspiration for this review was to act as a response to WarBaby10's review. I downloaded the installer files myself and the game installed fine. It started up fine too, though I only played a few minutes. (My graphics card is an old GTX 1060 3GB.) As for the game itself, I have seen a lot of gameplay on YouTube (and suggest you do the same to get an idea of whether or not you'd like the game). Inevitably there have been many comparisons to Cry of Fear, which is understandable. (The Silent Hill series was an inspiration for this game and CoF, iirc.) The sense I get is Remorse is not as good as CoF but still a solid 7.5-8/10. The atmosphere in the town is top-notch and overall the graphics are quite good. Most enemies have the same "come at you fast" attack but different and interesting designs. As an aside, at least one of the Remorse devs also worked on the Half-Life 2 horror mod "Grey", which is comparable to Cry of Fear and Remorse. (Both Grey and CoF were in-development and released roughly around the same time but neither party copied the other.) All three use Stig Sydtangen as the primary voice actor, which is a very fun connection. (Again, the following is all based on lengthy gameplay I've seen on YouTube.) If FPS psychological survival-horror intrigues you, I recommend trying the game. Likewise if you enjoyed Cry of Fear or similar, I also suggest this game. You'll probably get ~3.5-4 hours of gameplay for a first playthrough (there are three different endings), and I think the full price is fair for that length (or you can wait for a sale of course).
(3 1/2 stars) GOG's version worked fine for me (simply DOSBox) aside from a screen resize issue (easily fixed by making adjustments in the Graphic Mode Setup). Monster Bash kept me entertained for a dozen(?) or so hours, with colorful graphics, amusing enemies, and relatively fun levels, but I'm not someone who is willing to spend lots of time trying to beat difficult levels. Thus, eventually, I ended up using the "lives" cheat to fully complete the game. I also felt like it outstayed its welcome for the last few hours. I'd recommend it on sale for at least 50% off and for someone who doesn't mind old-school difficulty or is okay with using a cheat code.
[Review based on Steam version, not GOG's] I bought Zombie Shooter off Steam probably 4-5 years ago because it looked "cool" and (I believe) was on sale at the time for a few bucks. Graphically it's isometric like Fallout or the Infinity Engine titles, but gameplay-wise it's like a third-person shooter with lite-RPG-esque stats and weapons you can upgrade by killing and collecting loot. I remember being impressed by how intense some of the battles can get (you can get overwhelmed in later levels if you're not careful) and the variety of zombies that you come across, not to mention the detailed death/gore animations. (Definitely NSFW, Kids, or simply those offended by blood and guts) That said, the game is short and a few times my character got stuck, which required me to restart a full level. (Pretty frustrating at the time) IMO the game doesn't really have replayability despite the "two additional game modes", and if you've played Sigma's Alien Shooter games, you've basically played this only with aliens instead of zombies. Fun, but perhaps only worthy of purchase when on sale.
