Rampant misogyny, sexual harassment and sociopathic manipulations together create a dark, violent and depressing atmosphere, and lend a certain creepiness to the relentlessly cheerful musings of the main protagonist. Also, most of the cut scenes are just motionless characters talking for too long, with nothing happening. That said, it is a good-sized adventure set in many different countries, the story is good, and the level of difficulty was just right for me, having me struggle for a while but not too long, at every turn.

Characters are voiced by the actual TNG actors, which is the greatest thing about this game. The multitude of ways to fail each mission also provides some comedy, and it is not too easy, nor too difficult to solve. Controls took some getting used to, but once you've got that down, it's a good-sized adventure collaborating with crew members to defeat enemies and complete missions. I ran the game on Windows 10 and standard HD screen resolution without problem, but I know that some users were unable to run the game on Windows 11 (GOG tech support spent a year trying to solve it without success). It may depend on your hardware and I suspect issues with screen resolution or aspect ratio, so make sure you check these things before buying. Edit: The sound issue on win11 was solved by renaming the executable from HiddenEvil.exe to HiddenEvil1.exe.

Highly recommend this game. It is an emotional journey that teaches you about the symptoms of dementia. Intriguing as it is designed as a mystery to be solved, yet does not trivialise the suffering of victims, and gives you a sense of the trauma and frustration involved. Well-designed in terms of both gameplay and audio/visuals, and the story is compelling, rewarding you with moments of sadness, joy, terror, confusion, and purpose. As an extra feature, you can choose to listen to audio commentary by the creators, which I also enjoyed very much.
