BioShock™ Remastered

Atlas Scrubbed

BioShock Remastered is the best, although not ideal means of experiencing a true gaming classic. Not a lot needs to be said regarding the original BioShock. It is a generation defining immersive sim with a powerful visual and thematic identity. Exploring the dense Randian landscape of Rapture is a timeless delight for darker imaginations. Ken Levine and the team at 2K Boston have earned a spot in the anals of gaming history. In regards to the remastering work done by Blind Squirrel Studios, the work is mixed. The good is that this edition comes with faithfully reworked textures, quality of life technical improvements and all of the content from previous console ports of BioShock. The bad is that the game has altered art direction and spotty stability. I would recommend watching visual comparisons on YouTube and researching the technical shortcomings on PCGamingWiki. Despite the shortcomings, I still award BioShock Remastered a full score. The overall quality of the original experience and remastered content speak for itself.
