The game is good, actually great. But its really not optimized very well. Comming from someone that played around half of the original and only years after it was released, i can say that the remake is very good, its made of people who loved the original, but wanted to make their own mark on the game. It wont replacec it, in its not made for that. Some things have changed, but the main parts are the same. I really like it, but its the only game i have not been able to run good on my steam deck. And it runs ery bad on my main rig, but boy does it look good. Get it full prie if you have a newer pc, but wait if you dont. The game is good on its own. Ohh, and i have played most of blobbers games, this is the only one that actually have good gameplay. Combat feels good and hectic.
TLDR: AOD is borked like the original and some light censoring/moderation going on. Was mostly buying it for AOD, but the amount of bugs made it so i couldnt progress past the section where you need to escape from the police in the begining. I can take Jank, but even when a restart of the game does not reset the bug, its just not worth it. I will buy it when its discounted and hopefully patched a bit. Other than that, it seems to be on par with the 1-3 remaster. Also a bit censored from what i could tell, not making a fuzz about that, but it is censored/moderated in some bits.
Held on buying this untill sthis 50% off price tag. I thought it was just better textures and that it could run on modern hardware. Was very suprised on the product when i started playing. The modern controls is really great, the texture, lightning and new models (not only the character models) all look great and dont take away anything from the old games. Would had been worth it full prce, but the screenshots and description did not do the game justice.
The game is not great, the gameplay is irritating in so many ways, like picking health flowers up all the time just to se it all taken away from a few hits. The bow shooting mechanic is serviceable, nothing more. the characters goes from ok to dreafull. Most seems like B movie actors and most look like hipsters. Very weird, only a few of the main casts are good. But the world looks really great and the idea for the game is very unique. All in all, the game is worth around 20€ and not more in my opinion, dont look forward to the sequel unless they improve the characters. it really is a 2019-2020 game in all ways sadly.
