I played Anachronox when it was brand new. And then I played it 5 or so years later, heavily modded to deal with things like quad core processors and other tech evolutions. And here I am nearly 30 years later, on my fifth or sixth play through. Snappy dialog, fun characters, neat environments. If you can sit through the endless elevator ride cut scenes and other relics of this era, you will love it.
Stardew feels like a classic of the genre now, but it is endlessly replayable and just a simple joy to spend time with.
