I got the classic version for free at some point. It slowed to a crawl when cops tried to arrest me. There are recommendations online to set the processor affinity to one core which sort of fixed the slowdown but the game got jittery and crashed. I fixed it by setting the max fps to 60 in the Nvidia control panel. It still slowed down when cops chased me but only for a second or two, Apart from that the game runs smooth with no crashes so far and my GPU fan isn't maxxed anymore. As far as the game goes, I've only done a few chapters but I'm having a good time.
The rating is for the game if it wasn't busted. It's a fun game but not much separates it from the first. I actually got all the way to the end without any crashes but once I saved the last sister it turned into a total crashfest. Very intermittent. I could get temporary relief by hitting escape when loading in. For some reason this seemed to delay the crash but even then I would be lucky to get more than a minute of play. Tried all the INI memory setting changes suggested online but the only thing that prevented crashes was setting graphics to low. I was able to finish the game but it looked like potato quality....
Put enough time into this to clear the first floor of all puzzles and was having a great time. Little details like the signs being crossed out so you don't waste time running around and being able to sprint quite fast are appreciated. Some developers would let you walk around in circles at snails pace to add to the "experience" when all it does is make it tedious! The missing star is because I booted up today and no continue option. The playerprofile.dat still exists but it reports that it's corrupt and cannot be loaded. All that progress lost. The game seems to have only one save file and zero redundancy for errors. You have been warned. I've never lost progress like this in a game....ever. Frustrating... Apart from that serious issue, what I've seen of the game so far is great.
