Bought this back when it had first came out. Loved it back in the day and the first chapter is a classic (Phantom Express!) but replaying it again I realize it's slightly overrated and no where near as entertaining as Duke Nukem 3D or even Shadow Warrior which had humor and better weapons. Barely any talk from the anti-hero you play that's for sure and when he does he rips off horror movies. I guess what it has going for it is the level design which is excellent but expect to get lost and the later chapters are pretty boring compared to the first two. This updated version is great however and worth buying if you've never played it before. Duke Nukem 3D will always be the best build engine game.
Deserves a better remaster. The game was a classic back in the day but it hasn't really aged very well and in fact is quite boring. Click, click, click and spam potions is what it's really about. Not exactly an RPG in the slightest. Still, if you've never played it then it's worth a buy but for us old timers just skip it. Pick up Warcraft 1 + 2 instead.
What can be said? The game puts Resident Evil and most other horror games to shame. It's a buckets of fun and full adrenaline, grit, action, and suspense. EA really knocked it out of the ballpark with this one. Shame they let the franchise fall into mediocrity. Dead Space 2 was great if not better but 3 got over bloated with unnecessary additions like the terrible weapon crafting. I really hope they release a trilogy HD master one day.
