They weren't lying, the remastered improvements have made the game's comedy tighter and the jokes fall better. And with the 10 lines everyone's complaining about changed or removed, the embarrassing, dated old jokes don't slow things down like they used to.
I'd have been happy to pay for it, but it's incredible it's freeware now. A unique platformer with strange enemies and puzzle-style platforming challenges, JotJ is still one of my favourite classic games and holds up really well. It has an interesting platforming map, whereby the game world map is also a platform level, and the game is quite non-linear as you collect gems to unlock different levels. Awesome fun and a steal at free.
