I had a lot of fun with this sequel, especially the story line to me seemed much more enjoyable than the story of the first part. Classic adventure game, puzzles neither too easy nor too difficult and fit to the story. The story recap of the first part is a fine thing too. So I really recommend this if you are looking for a classic detective adventure.
I think this was one of the worst adventure games I´ve ever played. The storyline is confusing and as soon as the storywriters didn´t know how to solve a situation a kind of deus ex machina appears to help and solve the situation. I don´t want to spoil too much but the guy in the asylum (or was it a prison?) who helps Benedek but doesn´t want to flee himself makes the author´s helplessness clearer than any of the other ridiciculous situations in the game. My recommendation: if you are looking for an adventure that tells an interesting story then try something different. If you want a story without too much logic behaviour of the protagonists and a lot of childish gore and splatter then Saint Kotar is your game. At least there is a decent german translation and the background graphics are not too bad so one star is well deserved.
Leider habe ich dieses Spiel direkt nach Erscheinen hier bei gog gekauft ohne vorher die ersten Tests für die PC-Version abzuwarten. Das war ein Fehler, denn ich bin bei einem Spielekauf lange nicht mehr so reingefallen. Dieses Spiel ist unterirdisch schlecht. Die Steuerung gehört zum Schlimmsten was ich in 30 Jahren Spielerkarriere erlebt habe. Was mit einem Gamecontroller vielleicht noch einigermaßen funktioniert ist auf der Tastatur der pure Krampf. Und warum? Weil man sich die Investition in eine für den PC passendere Point-and-click Steuerung sparen wollte. Die Tastatursteuerung ist natürlich nicht konfigurierbar sondern fix - auch den Aufwand hat man sich gespart. Selbst wenn man das Steuern der Spielfigur durch die Umgebung hinbekommt, muss man noch zusätzlich exakte Positionen ansteuern um Hotspots zu aktivieren, an denen man Interaktionen durchführen kann. Dieses Gewürge ist unerträglich. Dazu kommen noch Quicktime-Events, die in einem Adventure meiner Meinung nach auch nichts zu suchen haben. Die Story ist so weit ich sie gespielt habe recht wirr und kann in Sachen Atmosphäre dem ersten Teil der Black-Mirror-Serie nicht das Wasser reichen. Einige andere Spiele von KingArt (BouT, The Raven) haben mir sehr viel Freude gemacht, doch Black Mirror ist ein schwarzer Fleck in der Geschichte dieses Entwicklers. Zumindest von der PC-Version von BlackMirror kann ich nur jedem abraten. Bei gog gibt es die alten Teile der Black Mirror Serie für wenig Geld und insbesondere der erste Teil ist das Geld auch wert, das ist der weitaus bessere Kauf.
