A game with alot of promise that already delivers a great time pros -charming albeit creepy aesthetic -fluid and snappy gunplay -intriguing story concept -fantastic loot system -super mario style upgrade minigame is a fun twist of a character sheet cons -none
The battletech sim you've always wanted. Pros -fantastic translation of the tabletop games rules and feel -copious mech customization options -good voice acting -intelligent enemy ai -entertaining if basic story cons -lots of waiting: ai turns and loading screens Overall A must play for strategy fans and Battletech fans
Lets put this up front: This game feels half complete without the HotIS dlc. That being said, the mech combat here is still a blast. Pros -graphically impressive. RTX ray tracing gives this game some fantastic visuals. The way buildings crumble underfoot is fantastic. -mechs feel properly stompy and clunky without feeling unplayable -The IS is fully represented -mech combat feels fun and rewarding Cons -Voice acting. This game has some of the worst VO I've heard in a while. No-one is spared -Lack of mech customization. At least compared to previous franchise entries. -The Plot: when you aren't doing your own thing, the story is painfully generic for a franchise with such rich lore. -AI: Ally ai can struggle with pathfinding and the concept of friendly fire Overall pick up the DLC and this game becomes worth it
This dlc is a must-buy in my opinion. It turns MW5 into the open-ended merc sim it was meant to be. It adds much needed variety and depth to the experience. And critically, it allows you to ignore the main story much more easily. Pros -adds much needed equipment and upgrades like M.A.S.C, NARC, AMS and more. -gives you the ability to actually explore the IS. -provides far more control over your destiny, while allowing you to make more mistakes. -Provides much more variety to missions with the inclusion of new objectives and quests Cons -Mech customization still feels gimped compared to older entries in the franchise. Its very difficult to make a mech feel truly your own. Overall A much needed improvement that vastly increases replay value.
