MDK is the best example of "short but sweet;" it might only take you two or three hours to finish, but it's awesome all the way through. The levels are varied with tons of collectibles and secrets to keep replayability high, the enemies are fun to fight, and the controls are super tight, making the platforming fun. This is one of those must-have games, along with the sequel. https://youtu.be/MVAtAtOXJU8

Requiem Avenging Angel is one of the few non-religious games that takes inspiration from Christianity for its story, which may sound bad at first until you realize how they've used it. Requiem is a fun ride all the way, featuring an interesting (but underdeveloped) story about fighting a corrupt army, and kicking demon ass using all sorts of crazy angelic powers like turning people to salt. Unfortunately, the game can be insanely hard and unfair at points, and the number of hitscanning enemies is staggering, but I think the positives outweigh the negatives here. The combat stays fun no matter how much you play or get irritated thanks to the varied weapons and enemies, cool powers, and enjoyable levels. Full review: https://youtu.be/ID7w3BycFgE
