STAR WARS™ Battlefront™ II (Classic, 2005)

Complete mess on computer

Truly, the first Battlefront was so much better, on every aspect on computer. Which is strange, because for the ps2 versions of the games, Battlefront 2 was clearly better than the 1st one. So, I don't recommend it except if you never had the chance to play it on console.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command

meh at best

It's... ok I suppose, except there's plenty games that do a better job having the starship troopers' vibe, like Starcraft 1 and 2, Dawn of War 2, and Alien Swarm. This game almost do nothing better, except maybe the fact your units block the line of sight of other units, which is an interesting mecanic. As for the story and graphisms, this game feels a lot like a free to play. My main concern is that there is no multiplayer and no regular battle, it's just the campaign with some nice missions and some horribly designed ones.

Alien: Isolation Collection

nice, but not great

Pros: difficulty, graphism, ambience Cons: a rather bad story, DLCs are almost a scam, and once you get the flamethrower the game becomes too easy and mecanics too visible (2 flamethrower farts at the xenomorph's face, he runs away for a few minutes and you can just rush until he comes back and you do it again.) Regarding Alien games, I prefer AvP from 2011, or even the AvP 2. Regarding horror games, Amnesia Dark Descent and SOMA were better.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director’s Cut

Not the Deus ex I was looking for

Deus Ex 1 is among my top 3 solo play games, with Vampire Bloodlines and Baldur's Gate 1/2 I never played Deus Ex 2 because my brother told me it was rather bad, but when this 3rd game was released, I tried it, on a potatoe computer with the game stuttering as hell. Yet, it was not what was really disapointing. Nah, the 2 real problems are: 1) The game is a stealth game. The first Deus Ex was a game where you could just play the way you want. Want to sneak around without killing anybody or murdering them all brutaly ? both are fine. In Deus Ex 3, you earn more Xp if you are sneaky. It's like "yeah, you can break in violently and explode them, but then I won't give you your Xp." Well, fuck you game, let me play the way I want, the waay it was in the first one. 2) The story. Oh my god does anybody remember how freaking dumb the story of this game is ?! The ending with the microchips turning people into zombies, the bad guy who you can talk to and tell him it's dumb and he's just like "my god you're right ! please help me stop what I started!" and the very end with 3 buttons to choose your ending cinematic... This story felt like a parody of the depth of the first game, as if someone wanted to shit on my beloved Deus Ex 1...

Cyberpunk 2077

Awesome the first time but...

I played Cyberpunk when it was released, and it was really good, I had the chance to have almost no bugs, and these were only minor (and rather funny) bugs. So I ended the game and wanted to play it all over again but... it felt kinda boring to redo just after completing it. Now, years passed, and there's a DLC so I thought that'd be the good time to play it again. ...Except it's so boring to redo it's almost painful, I don't know exactly why, or if anybody else feels the same, but here's what, in my opinion, makes it so boring past the first playthrough: Bad gunfight: it feels kinda clunky, and I often die because I didn't notice I took so many shots, when you're hit, you just vaguely hear an aspiration sound effect. Compare that to the game with what I consider the best gunfight system: FEAR, where, when you're hit, camera move and you feel you're hit. Even compare it to Eye Divine Cybermency where your character is pushed backward... these are good mecanics. And somewhere around the middle of the game, everything is too easy, now that's a modern games problem, there's no darn levels or quest in games like Cyberpunk were you really have to focus and try several times like Blightown from Dark Souls or the graveyard quest from Vampire Bloodlines. The challenge is just absent here. Now, I know Cyberpunk was not focusing on the fight, but dammit it's part of the game, if you take it away, what's left ? RPG stuff ? And here's the second problem: it doesn't feel that much like an RPG, the skills are kinda useless, the dialogue options you unlock based on your attributes doesn't seem that important, and in the end, it doesn't feel like any of your choice matters much, except maybe for the different endings in the game which leads to what I really liked in the game. The story and the ambience are really good, and the lifespan of the game is great, so it's a great game to do once, just as you'd watch some series or movies once.

Styx: Master of Shadows

sick of that in 2010s games

Found no way to turn off bloom, sick of seeing bald guys head lightning like a flashlight in games of that era.

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition

Still no french version

That's simple: BG2EE (and BG1EE) are just useless, the original games were still working fine, besides, the things added are just... bad. the cutscenes are bad too, one of my friend just end BG1EE and didn't quite understand the whole baal spawn things (he though the statues were other gods, not baal spawns) anyway, that's BG2EE, not bg1EE review, so what's the major problem ? no french version, there are mods to correct that so it's not that hard to have the game in french, but ffs was it that hard for beamdog, after all those years, to have the game in french ??! I wish there was no EE at all.

Mafia Classic

enough gog!

Game is great (that's why I don't give it only one star) But seriously GoG, it's again a game only in english? Why do you keep selling games only in english when there was french (or any other language) on the original one??

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

Simply amazing

I played this game twice, both DLCs were not released the first time I played. The Witcher 3 is amazing, on every single point. The work put in it is incredible, I mean, even the DLC are awesome: they got a better story than the main quest and take days to end. Is it my favorite game of all time? err, no I still love Vampire Bloodlines more :p But hell that's freaking close.

Vikings - Wolves of Midgard

Not really interesting

Wanna play a game with a viking? go play Rune. Wanna play this kind of RPG? go play Path of Exile or Diablo II. Yeah, I might be harsh on this kind of game, but Blizzard made Diablo II more than 15 years ago and it's still a reference. So, what is wrong with this game? First of all the controls, I'm playing with an Xbox360 controller and trying to avoid hits too late, why? because you got to use the same finger for attacking and avoiding. another exemple? When your rage is full, you got to press LB and RB to activate it, but LB is also the button to heal, so half of the time I want to activate the rage I also lose a charge of heal. one last exemple, to avoid, you got to push the right analog in the direction, but pressing it gets the map in the middle of the screen... appart from that the gameplay sounds like a copy of any game of the genre, I mean, without originality at all. oh, yes, there is something original, while in levels your character starts to freeze and got to go back to a firecamp before freezing to death, that's just freaking annoying. New, alright, but annoying. levelling is a freaking joke, you got 6 things that you can up by one percent every level. It's miserable. Graphism are... correct at best. story is not interesting. But let's face it, we don't play this kind of game for its story. I bought this game hoping for a Dark Alliance-like experience, I was wrong.
