Wow, what a load of garbage this thing is they calling a game. Bugs, crashes, lock screens, getting stuck in place while exploring forcing full restarts. Oh and be very careful looking for things you need, the stupid auto-save system will lock you out of areas without any hint and you can NEVER go back unless you restart the entire f'n chapter. Duh.. I R a gamez deziner. If that is not enough to ruin everything, you will soon discover this is more like a very bad movie than a game and it forces you to re-watch long boring scenes over and over without option to skip. It is very obvious the devs are trying to pitch a chance to sell the movie rights to Netflix and game design is something don't care about. I am done with this series, company and devs. I cannot wait until I hear about their failed movie venture to expose these braindead, greedy losers who have no business in the gaming industry. This should be a masterclass in how to take a million dollar idea and turn it into complete trash.
Got this for free but feel like someone owes me money for my lost time. Worst game intro of all time, voice acting is so lame I muted most of it. Did anybody tell the dev this is supposed to be entertaining for Doom fans? What the hell were they thinking? I would rather eat a box of chalk while sipping on battery acid than play this thing.
It looks like a FPS but plays like a walking simulator, not much combat and just a lot of walking and enemies are no challenge at all. Only good weapons are the shotgun and sniper rifle, of course they make you scavenge for ammo which is just time wasting filler, oh and don't worry about the batteries, they are useless and your flashlight works fine/forever without them. Profound story: profoundly boring Tight atmosphere: basic world graphics, nothing amazing Deadly danger: enemies are a joke and weapons are stock Unique setting: Berlin in constant rain cloud cover Experimental soundtrack: What? If you can get it for less than $5.00 on sale and don't mind a walking sim with sparse combat and a meh story you can finish in less than 4 hours them maybe this game is for you
I really do not like leaving negative reviews because of all the time and effort it takes to build these games but when a game experience does nothing but frustrate and anger me every time I try to play it I feel it's worth sharing. First and foremost the ridiculous amount of swaying and movement when you try to zoom is a joke, is the shooter wearing springs on his shoes or is he jumping on a trampoline at the same time? We are talking a foot or two of sway, it will make you dizzy if you don't press the very short timed hold breath key. Second, the forced auto-save is the worst, make a mistake? even if it the fault or action of the really dumb AI? too bad.... repeat, repeat, repeat. I have played a lot of sniper games and this one makes me wonder if the devs have ever even shot a gun or played this game after they created it. I have played the other Sniper Ghost Warrior games, although not my favorite, at least they could be played to the end with some joy. I would give this one a very hard pass.
I got this game for FREE from GoG and I still feel like they ripped me off. I have a machine set so perfect I never have game crashes or bugs. This piece of junk locked up on the simple config screen even before the game started and I had to use hacker key commands to close the program (no wimpy alt-tab or ctr-alt-del will not work, yeah its that broken) Avoid this even if you get it for free, if you must see it just watch a youtube walkthrough. Don't waste your precious gaming time on the garbage of death that will not die.
OK, This is nothing like your typical FPS, the guns do not have bullets but instead are loaded with different little creatures that each perform a different benefit like the skunk who stinks the place up or the spider who wraps the bad guys up or the firefly who shocks them, etc.... get the idea? each have their strengths and weaknesses and each battle usually requires a different thought out approach for success. On the surface it looks silly and easy but if you do not approach and solve each battle with the correct ammo you will die fast. There is a stealth element but not really any stealth kills and the upgrades are fun and useful too. If you enjoy FPS and want to play one with a twist and not to serious then this is the game for you, also switching between 1st and 3rd person is essential and flows very natural. The dev's really thought out of the box on this one and deserve a lot of credit, the light hearted fun factor fits perfect too.
If they offer it for free don't get it because it still costs too much for your wasted time and digital space. I think I would rather eat a box of chalk and drink battery acid than waste another minute of my life on this steaming pile of garbage. I have never given any game a 1 star review, I wish I could give this one a negative -100. I know i'm supposed to list the reason(s) I did not like the game but this one is not even worth that. I have to go now, there is a small piece of vomit in my throat put there by the memory of this game.
As my title suggests, stealth is paramount and abundant in this gem. Depending on the difficulty level selected (you can change it during game play) it ranges from extremely difficult to a piece of cake. I do not suggest wasting your time on mods that make the alien stupid just find the difficulty level that works for you and (i.e. you can't tell until the alien starts hunting you) and then strap in for a gorgeous immersive experience that will truly entertain you with a level of respect to the devs who obviously put a lot of work in the graphics and crafting the atmosphere that captures the original movie perfectly. I purchased this game on sale which was a real bargain but I also think that this is one of the few games that is worth the full price too. Unless stealth is not your thing, do not let this was get by you.
No way to skip cutscenes even if you have already seen them. Is this a game or a poorly written movie they are forcing you to watch for little teases of actual gameplay action? I thought I was purchasing a game not a book or movie. They say "it's needed for immersion... bla bla bla" well OK that is your vision but at least allow the freaking user the ability to skip it if they have already seen it, god forbid you make a mistake or realize you missed something and then you have to sit through 30 minutes of dialog you just watched and to make it even more stupid they sometimes disable the quick-save ensuring you are forced their boring @ss fake movie. I'm 2 hours into this cringy bore fest with less than 30 mins of actual game play. No wonder this series died the devs forgot this is supposed to be a game and decided to direct a movie instead.
If your a completionist and you played the first Alan Wake and... you buy this on sale and.... you feel like playing a short easy game then you will not be to disappointed. The only really annoying part for me was the constant boring dialog between Acts/Chapters and of course no manual saves so if you miss something your fudged!
