At one point in the game the character mutters in his lispy irritating voice: "Do I really want to live in a world where I am rewarded for such actions" and it is an excellent summary of how this game works. Logic is nearly non-existant, too many of the solutions are just arbitrary nonsense. Be prepared to re-visit locations and get trapped in repetitious dialogue and doing the same things over and over hoping for a clue or for some unique combination that will work. Without a walk through be prepared to waste a ton of time hoping to get lucky. I have played many click and point adventures and while all of them have elements of getting lucky never have I seen so many absurd solutions in a single game. Furthermore I just got stuck at a glitch in chapter 3 where I simply cannot advance DESPITE looking at the walk through. It is broken and I wash my hands of this experience. The graphics do not make up for terrible story, terrible gameplay, terrible voice acting.
Without spoiling the game let me tell you there is a glitch in episode 1 that seems to be unique to the GOG version. Fortunately I only wasted 10 minutes and I knew something was amiss. So I looked it up and sure enough a character that you need to interact with is inexplicably invisible -- definitely a glitch. So when you get stuck towards the end of ep. 1 go search the walk through OR simply mouse around where a character is clearly missing from a scene and you will hopefully find her. Aside from that this game was not as good as Devil's Playhouse which I started with... but that is understandable since this is the beginning of the series. The characters are funny and there are some good gags. This version does not have hints so sometimes you can get stuck for awhile but things are usually logical and you can work thru them using your brain without having to do random stuff. I really recommend Devil's Playhouse, it was an outstanding adventure with a lot of unique concepts and hilarious voice acting, so this is good background for that.
