This is the first time I can recall both the positive and negative feedback on a game so closely matching my own reaction. I won't rehash the pros and cons, because you'll see that reviewers are largely in agreement about them and it's just a matter of comfort with the UI. As an avid board gamer, my reaction is that Armello is a fantastic board game trapped in the body of a video game. It doesn't quite have the graphical appeal to make up for the slowish dice-rolling and combat effects. But it doesn't have the IRL capacity to simply view the game board in its entirety. 'Looking up rules,' of course, is a chore (though the tutorial is very clever). + Ready to back a physical-copy Kickstarter. - Finding the virtual version tedious within an hour.
