In my opinion this is the best of all the city building games. It offers a pretty unique atmosphere, catchy theme and gameplay keep you entertained. Combat is just as bad as it is in every city building game, I'd much rather go without it entirely to be honest, but it's easy to ignore.
Even only for the Shalebridge Cradle scenario you just have to complete this game. That's probably the most epic and disturbing level of all time, all games, ever, Sanitarium included, despite I'm usually not quite keen on scary or disturbing games. I'm unusually afraid of 2 things in life : mentally ill people and orphanages (must be something in my past :)), therefore this scenario is absolutely spot-on for me.
This game is simply among the very bests EVER. Altough I have to admit I'm a bit biased towards stealth games I was sceptical because of the cartoon-like graphics and japanese theme. But it's been a blast from the very first second I started playing it. Since it's release I've played it through like 10-15 times. At 21EUR you just have to bag it IMHO. Even at 40-50
