No Man's Sky

A slowly polished gem

Almost everyone knows about the disastrous launch of this game over 8 years ago. Now with all of the updates the game is a lot of fun to play. There is still a sense of solitude when playing and the non-linear game play may not appeal to everyone, but the world of No Man’s Sky feels more alive then ever before. If you have been hesitating to play, I believe your wait is over. There is a lot more vibrancy to planets, the space stations are bustling with activity. There is a sense of progression with finding new ships, minerals, weapons and places. There is a lot more customization options for you as well. There is still a learning curve as with most survival-based games, but it is not too harsh. You can find a lot to do within the starting system and learn enough of the languages to be able to communicate well. Give No Man’s Sky a shot, I think you will enjoy it. Props to Hello Games for sticking with this game and providing the MASSIVE number of FREE updates as well. Welcome Traveller…

Stardew Valley

An enjoyable distraction

My kids have Rune Factory and they compare this game to that one. Having never played Rune Factory, I thought I would give this a try. It is a fun game, fairly forgiving in it execution. The interactions with the towns people are fun and after you get the basics down it is a lot of fun to work up to the achivements. The world is quick to navigate through and it is easy to see how to get from one place to another. For how simple the game is it is very immersive.
