This game seems to be polarizing. Lots of people love it, but there are a large number of one-star reviews. If you can't get the game to run properly, sorry, can't help there. Besides that problem, I'll try to help you figure out if this game is for you. Treasure Adventure Game most reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past with some Mario-type platfroming thrown in. If you hated those games, you'll probably hate this one, too. Otherwise, there's some hope. Pros: -MUCH larger world than expected from a free game. -Full of surprises, even towards the end. -Starts off easy before increasing the difficulty. -Rewards observation, cleverness and patience. -Sprinkled with homages to old-school games. -Amazing soundtrack, which I ended up buying. Cons: -You will be stumped ocassionally (or a lot). I needed a few hints to complete it. -There are 3 or 4 places where the platforming is super tough. You'll need to get good at jumping and timing your movements. -The difficulty progression is mostly OK, but some of the early bosses are MUCH harder than later ones. Not impossible, but very challenging. -The day/night cycle can lead to lots of waiting. Better find something else to do until that shop opens again. Sleeping isn't an option. -The dialog is mostly superfluous, just establishing the lore. You have to read it, though, because once in a while it will provide useful clues. -Backtracking. It's a metroidvania after all. There's a fast travel system, but you have to earn it. -A couple of screens are notoriously buggy and may crash your game. Save often! Reasons to avoid: -If you hate old school games, skip. This one doesn't just look old school; it plays old school. -If you need clear directions and hate figuring stuff out yourself, skip. -If you get frustrated losing the same fight over and over or failing difficult jump sequences, skip. -If you expect quick success without putting in the work, skip.
