Baldur's Gate 3 - Digital Deluxe Edition upgrade

Why are these not free "goodies"?

Most, if not all the "content" in this "DLC" are the types of content provided with other games (many many other games) on GoG as free bonus "goodies" along with the base game. The inclusion of such "goodies" being one of the things that once set GoG apart from other distribution platforms, btw. One might say "Well goodies come along with OLD games, & this is a NEW game that is why the OST, artbook, etc. must be purchased seperately as a DLC". But that does not hold up, there are many newer releases which still choose to include such content as "goodies". In fact, looking at CDPR's own Cyberpunk 2077 game, we see included as "goodies": Game OST, (in mp3, wav AND flac formats), artbook, digital comic, wallpapers, avatars, posters, an "easy mode guide", AND a previous version of the game (1.6). All bundled with the BASE GAME as free extras. And Cyberpunk 2077 base game & Baldur's Gate 3 are both priced $59.99 as of this writing. The least that BG3 could do is to include the digital audio & art extras as "goodies" with the base game & then perhaps sell the "in game" extras as DLC . I have seen more & more games on GoG pulling this bullsh*t in recent years; taking digital extras traditionally included for free as "goodies" here on GoG, & selling them separately at inflated prices as "DLC", blatantly FLEECING us, their customers! We must vote with our wallets, not buy overpriced, bullsh*t "DLC" packages, & let developers know that we will NOT accept being fleeced by them. I will not be buying this "DLC", no, not even on sale. The extra content looks nice, but really should have been included with the base game as free extras.

Syberia

It's meh...just meh.

I got this game free during a promo type event. For free it's a pretty good game, but I would not recommend it at full price. The story is interesting & the art is nice, but the gameplay has some real problems. You often have to pass through multiple empty screens, just going from point a to b, and usually you have to go through these empty sections multiple times. On top of that there's too much "pixel hunting" for some tiny, hard to spot item that you need for a puzzle. If you miss any items in an area you will spend an undue amount of time going back through all the screens again on pixel hunts. Given how much time is wasted just getting around in each area, these pixel hunts are extremely frustrating. A lot of the puzzles are fairly nonsensical or even completely pointless, except as time fillers to make the game take longer to finish. The game has too many annoyingly obtuse characters, such as the "Momo" kid near the beginning. Half the "puzzle" of the game is figuring out which dialogue option will pry a clue out of a character & then trying to figure out what the clue means. The game a has some enjoyable moments & even a bit of humor (the "enemy spy" that turns out to just be a strangely shaped tree), but the end was disappointing, nonsensical & makes the whole game pointless... It would have been nice to at least leave the choice to the player whether Kate gets on the plane or not; I don't think an alternate ending would've been hard to put in, even back in '02 when the game was released....of course if Kate didn't get on the plane at the end of the first game, then I guess there would've been no sequel, eh? Not worth the $9.99 IMO, wait for it to be on a very good sale & don't waste your time running thruogh empty screens over & over, hunting pixels to complete the pointless, nonsensical puzzles; just use a walkthru instead & enjoy the story.

Broforce

100% pure awesome!

This game succeeds at being nothing but fun! The action is so crazy & over the top, even character deaths are more entertaining than frustrating (I've had countless "bros" killed in hilarious Rube Goldberg-esque chains of destruction). Even if you end up retrying a difficult level for the dozenth time, you will still be having fun; it never gets too frustrating and finally beating the level is only that much more satisfying. Even after beating the game in campaign (story) mode, you will still have fun replaying levels in arcade mode, or you can even skip the story & just play arcade! Worth every penny full price & an even better deal on sale. I first got this game on Steam & loved it, then I saw it (on sale) here on GOG & decided "Awesome game + no DRM & offline backup + it's on sale? Why the heck not?" and bought it here too! Yes, it's that good, it's worth purchasing a second time!
