Pyre is a lovely game. There are all sorts of neat details thrown in that many people will miss, simply because the people who made the game cared enough to put them in. The game is sort of a fantasy sports/rpg. The gameplay is exciting, and the mechanics are quite fun and offer a lot of stuff to play with. The art is excellent. The artists and animators made a beautiful game, and the soundtrack is wonderful. Something that was done particularly well is integrating the soundtrack into the game. You travel with a minstrel, and he will often play songs for you. The writing is very good with relatively few lines. The characters have distinct personalities that you can understand within a few moments of meeting them, and you can learn more about their motivations and history as you progress through the story. The game took me a bit over 10 hours to complete. I didn't personally feel like I needed to replay it, though the characters' stories do branch based on your decisions/how you play the game. I would recommend this game to people who really enjoy playing well-crafted games, people who enjoy action rpgs, and people who enjoy beautiful aesthetics.
