I feel sorry for anyone who was introduced to VTM with Bloodlines. Redemption is FAR superior. The character development system is so much better. The items are more vast, you get a party to command. Great game. The only negative in the game is that you cannot do any form of random encounter with enemies. There is a set number of enemies to defeat, so make use of your experience gains wisely. This would make an excellent remake, and an excellent TV show.
On Nintendo, this was a fantastic game. However, the port to PC has left it with nearly unusable controls, especially when dueling other ship captains. If you enjoyed dueling on the Nintendo version, you will be completely let down when you are left with the unresponsive numpad controls for this version. You will literally be mashing keys hoping it does what it is supposed to do. Forget about trying to maneuver forward or backwards.
