TLDR; This game is freaking incredible and one of the few this year worth the $60 price tag. If you liked Skyrim, Fallout, Outer Worlds or the Witcher, you'll love this. I want to start out addressing the negative reviews. This is not the Witcher 3 GOTY 2077 Edition. Cyberpunk shares some of the underlying design elements of Witcher 3 like an open world, robust crafting and customization, incredible dialogue, and an amazing story, but this is a new game, new setting, and a new engine. It's CDPR's first FPS, it was built using a huge tech stack for five different platforms (PC, XB1, XBX, PS4, and PS5) and supports running from 1080p up to 4k with RayTracing. It's not perfect at launch, but it blows away any reasonable expectations. The complaints about all 3 backgrounds ending up at the same point eventually is also a little silly, were you guys really expecting 3 separate games? The backgrounds do a great job of giving additional perspective to the setting and affect dialogues and side stories later on, but as with any game that uses a similar plot device, they're different routes into the main story. CDPR did an incredible job of not only capturing the rich setting of Cyberpunk and Night City, but building a huge incredibly detailed world. The graphics are mindblowing on 4k with RayTracing and even with settings turned up to the max the game runs really smooth. The story and character development are top notch and feel as lovingly crafted as the Witcher, Mass Effect, or Knights of the Old Republic did. The open world events are really well done and do a great job of bringing the setting to life. After playing through the first mission you really feel connected to some of the supporting characters, in a way I haven't seen since the first KOTOR or Mass Effect. In a market saturated by studios churning out rehashed sequels year after year this is an amazing first entry in a new IP and well worth your $60.
