Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap

A Beautiful Remake Of A Sega Classic

I had no idea that Wonder Boy III: The Dragons Trap was getting a remake, so I was stunned when I saw this game kn the GOG store. This was a game that was part of my childhood, and was easily the best game on the Sega Master System. This is also the best Wonder Boy game, even compared to the Wonder Boy games on Sega Mega Drive, in my opinion. This is truly an amazing remake of a Sega Master System classic. All of the levels / areas of the game, as well as the enemies and bosses, are all exaclty the same as they were when the game was released in the late 80's. But the animation and art style are new and improved to modern day standards. The redesigned game world looks fantastic, especially with the parallaxing backgrounds and foregrounds, and the character and enemies animations look beautiful. I also love how you can quickly switch from the new art style and music to the original Sega Mastter System art style and music at the press of a couple of buttons. If you weren't a fan of the looks and sounds of the remade version of the game , then you can at least have a version of Wonder Boy III: The Dragons Trap that has wide screen capability and looks great on modern screens in all it's pixelated glory. If you played this game back in the Sega Master System days, this game is well worth the purchase and revisiting Monster Land as Wonder Boy all over again. If you've never played this game before, give yourself the chance to play a cracker of a game that has been remade with the love a dedication of some great artists and developers.
