It's an incredible game, great complexity with the strong writing that Paradox is known for. Yes, it was bad at launch but Paradox was very quick to release the first Hotfix ''Demetrius'' that changed a great lot for the better. Give it a try if you are fun of Victoria, Crusaker Kings and Europa Universalis, if you want the best of these three games into one, beautiful game and if you are looking for an excellent alternative of Civ series.
As always, I express my thoughts about the game for what it does in its own kind and my recommendation adressess those who have already an idea and / or done research before bying each game. CDPR once more delivers a true artistic piece of work, with excellent captivating story telling (even for those new to the Witcher universe), attention to every detail, from the hand painted pictures of the cards, to the landscapes. Insanely beautiful and epic. A true feast for your eyes, ears, heart and mind. Excellent soundtrack subtly underlining with the best way everything that happens on screen. Sound design on spot. So much love was put into making this game and it shows.
I was the first to feel sad for the people who bought in on release and felt all the dissapointment they felt. BUT... Now No Man´s Sky is a completely different game. I very rarely write reviews but I feel that in this case, it is completely unfair to judge the game for what it WAS and not for what it is now. We as customers should not give a damn if the game comes from a small team or a big team. Afterall, small teams have created masterpieces (see Witcher III) that wrote history in gaming and changed it´s course, while big studios fail to deliver year after year. That said, the small, tiny actually, team behind this game, have delivered a great accomplishment. They were late, yes. It felt like they lied, yes. Some people gave their money back then and were greatly disappointed because what they bought was not what they paid, yes. But it is now. In fact, now in my personal opinion its worth is more than 60 dollars or euros or whatever. It is a captivating experience no matter in which game mode you play it, it is fun, entertaining, interesting, endless. It involves exploration that never gets boring, you can choose if you want to play survival style, or building and colonising or action or just exploring, or all at the same time. I highly recommend it even on its original price.
Pros: 1. The game that set the bar so high for all game developers and pushed the gaming industry to new, unbeforeseen boundaries. 2. After each and every session you have with this game, fills you with the feeling not that you left a video game, but that you have actually lived these moments and facts in real life. Cons: You will never be able to feel the same. Every game you play after this one, will just not seem right. Congratulations to CDPR for giving us not just a game, not just a piece of art but a collection of life experiences.
