Anachronox

Good game - decent story.

I felt the game was pretty decent, if you don't mind the blocky graphics, and the slow combat at times it is easy to lose hours playing this game. I did it myself trying to work out a few of the clues to progress the game. Bad side was that it seemed to drag in the last quarter of the game. I just wanted it to end so i can put it behind me. I didn't bother with grinding or getting everyones top weapons and skills. But all in all, a game well worth the money

Nice Time Sink

I like this game. It's not massive, it's totally linear and the story was probably thought up in half an hour but it's still a pleasant experience. I find myself hoping they make a second one after looking in forums for feedback on how to improve. Unfortunatley, i don't think it quite fulfills either of the game steroetypes genres that it could be considered. RPG, minimal story, limited character equipment, no wandering/exploring, no random npcs apart from cutscenes and they usually end in a battle against said npc. No conversation choices etc. As for a tactical game, the enemies can be challenging the first time you meet them if you're not paying attention to skills. If you are paying attention to what they are doing you probably won't have much difficulty if you've ever experienced tactical games or MMORPGS raid tactics before. It's like a mini, strategy, MMORPG group with tank, healer, dps taking on groups of enemies but i liked it. The only thing i found that started to piss me off was each 'sections' taking too long in my opinion. You have a simple task of getting somewhere or doing something which your instinct tells you will take two zones then a boss battle maybe - but when you get to the third and still haven't got to where you're going you start to wonder how many more you need to do.. It's like someone saying 'location, location, location, location' .... the 4th just seems awkward to the ears.
