In an alternate-reality 1999, you play as a volunteer moderator / manual content ID'er responsible for scouring the internet for malicious software, harassment, and mostly copyright violations. I have only dim memories of Web 1.0, but can confirm that it was very much a wild wild west, with huge amounts of optimism, experimentation, and accidental/intentional malware. This game tries to capture that era, along with the roots of more contemporary issues on the internet. On my second playthough now, finding the secret connections between certain pages and the latter part of the story. On another note, the music is amazing and they wrote numerous mixtapes and albums for this game, so there's always something to listen to.
