Feels just like the original, atmosphere wise. Far more playable thanks to modern controls etc. I could be wrong, but it sounds like the same voice actor for SHODAN as SS2. It feels to me like this is what the original developers would have wanted, had they access to today's tech when the game was made. I'm only on research deck, so I can't speak for the whole game, but I'm having a ton of fun so far! (4 hrs in). Feels well balanced between survival horror resource scarcity and modern shooter abundance; if you're not careful you'll run out of ammo quick, but if you're smart and exploit the recyclers and recharge stations, combat isn't overwhelming, except when it should be. Atmosphere is what keeps me coming back though; it really nails the feeling of first being alone, then the horrible realization that you aren't alone anywhere you go; the whole station is trying to kill you, like a body rejecting a parasite. Downsides? The puzzles aren't my cup of tea, but they are usually not mandatory, and one can turn down the puzzle difficulty as well. (Disclaimer: I'm rubbish at puzzles IRL too) Grab it on sale and have some fun; if you like Prey, dead space, bioshock, mass effect etc, come see where they all took inspiration. Even if not, try it anyway, this is a beautiful remake of one of the best PC games of all time
