I was looking for a turn-based game that I could play casually to take a 15 minute break from time to time. This game hit the sweet spot. It's fun, a bit silly, and challenging without being annoying. I'd like to see a bit more variety in the encounters and strategic thinking in the gameplay, but for what it is, it's excellent. Playing a game about colonialist exploitation feels a bit naughty, but there's a subtle critique of the 19th/early 20th century exploration adventures hiding behind the bravado. Highly recommended for fans of a cross between Spelunky and the Oregon Trail.
I didn't really care for this one. I understand the horror/trippy vibe, but it doesn't appeal to me. I bought it based off all the great reviews, but I just can't get into the game. Everything about it, from the controls to the VGA graphics turn me off. Not a fan.
