Without a story, there is nothing to follow. Runic Games’ ambitious vision of creating a game that required no dialogue to tell a story is dashed by all aspects of the game. The lack of a tangible story forces the players to naturally seek out another aspect to like the game, sadly, nothing keeps you interested. The combat and upgrade progression system are heavily inspired by other games, but don’t add anything new to entice the players. Their dream was only achieved in the last final moments of the game from a single decision. As I played, I kept wondering what the point of it all was and what it was building up to. It was only in the end that the questions were finally answered and yet, I felt no satisfaction. The only relief I felt was that I had finally persevered through the game.
