I actually bought SWAT 4 here on GOG just to play Elite Force COOP with a friend, It adds lots of new weapons and different loadouts, i think there were new commands for the AI teammates, and adds support for wide screen resolutions and FOV settings...it expends an already amazing game while keeping the game's original flavor
Lots of WW2 planes to fly from lots of different nations with believable flight models. the realism settings are very detailed so it can be setup like an arcade game or a flight sim. AI planes are really challenging that they sometimes might cheat a little bit, still beatable tho. I played a bunch of flight sims, but IL2 1946 is the game that I always ended up playing...it really is a timeless classic.
The game itself is amazing, the AI team members are some of the best I've seen in games. Levels are detailed and the locations are varied, it's tactical but not as hard as arma ,really enjoy playing this game. However the game simply doesn't work right out of the box,i think this version is exact same as the retail one from 20 years ago.I only got 10 fps at first and it crashed every 5 minutes...had to install dgvoodoo myself to get the game to work properly.not hard to fix,but kind of disappointed that GoG didn't even bother putting nglide in
Wanted to play this game again a few years back, but found out my CD version of the game dosen't work on modern PCs...this version however, works perfectly fine on my Win10 PC right out of the box, it supports widescreen resolution up to 1920*1080,and can even be ALT + TAB in and out without problems...although I would suggest lowering the resolution a bit to make the texts/UI bigger. The game itself is unchanged just like how I remember it...build factorys/farms to produce products or get resources needed to make products ,send goods to warehouses and sell them in stores. The towns will grow faster if you deliver them what they need...it's a bit like OPENTTD but playing as the boss of an industrial company. Anyway,Thanks for brining this game back
it looks pretty good, has realistic and detailed looking planes. But this is not a realistic flight sim,it's an arcade game...although it has option to play it more realistic-ish but the missions often require you to shoot down more then 20 planes and don't expect friendly planes to help you...sometimes i feel like they're escorting the enemies,so playing the campaign in any mode other then Arcade is not possible to me.There is no mission builder in this game, the closest thing is "Training Mode" which only lets you select the planes you and the enemy fly, no way to set waypoints or objectives,it's really limited. Overall a fun game...play IL2 if you want a more realistic simulation
I've played nblood, bloodgdx and of course the Dosbox versions and this version has the smoothest mouse control...no input lag or acceleration. So far I've this version for 10 or so hours on 2 computers without crashing,so it's definitely not broken to me
This is the best space flight sim I've played so far...control is not too complex, took some time to figured out how important it is to distribute power to shield and laser.the levels are challenging...some of them are a bit too hard for me that I had to retry for more then 10 times to get it right. The strategy guide came with it is really interesting to read too... it has more details of the story in the game. Awesome game and great goodies
