Brigador: Up-Armored Deluxe

Underrated and overlooked

This wasn't a game I expected to like but to my shock it's one of the most aesthetic and engaging titles I've played in years. A slick soundtrack, deliberate retro-visuals without the technical drawbacks, an unconventional yet engaging story told through worldbuilding... and oodles and oodles of shooting and explosions. It's a genuine shame that this game got overlooked, it reflects what used to be great about game development.

Cyberpunk 2077

The peaks and valleys of Night City

Played for 141 hours over the span of nearly two months, beating the MSQ and majority of the game's sidequests and hidden content. There's a lot to like and hate, meaning the game's final score settles into the middle. Excellent story and characters, but with stumbles. Fantastic world design, until you get to some neglected parts. Very enjoyably mechanics, but with sub-optimal options. Obvious signs of crunch, which make the successes even more impressive and tragic. Assume that it's not going to change substantial beyond this point, and decide whether that's a deal breaker or not.
