I have a late-2014 5k iMac with 4GHz i7, Radeon m295x 4GB GPU, and 24GB of RAM. I made the mistake of trying to run NMS in a VM at first, but eventually gave in and created a Bootcamp partition to run Win10 on "bare metal", and after a few adjustments, I'm pleased with the experience. While I have picked 1600x900 in the settings (with everything turned up to "HIGH", Vsync off), it looks better than that on my 27" screen a little over 2 feet in front of me. That said, I'm not an experienced PC gamer by any means, so my expectations may not match yours. Is it an exciting game? I wouldn't say that, but it is engrossing in its low-key way. It's like a Chris Foss painting come to life, and the ability to just wander and see what you find is something I've been looking forward to since I first heard about NMS a few months ago. I'm going to stick with it, which I wasn't expecting after the initial poor reviews.
