The Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos

amazing so far

a true successor to gothic 2. the beginning is NOT representative, play the prologue as best as you can to get as much items as possible and finish as much quests as possible, then you will see.

UnderRail

fantastic for fallout fans out there

old school, takes a bit of learning curve. way not too easy. just the way we old schoolers like it.

Siege of Avalon: Anthology

fantastic, much like divine divinity

i am playing 5 hours straight as a scout.. very hard to begin with, especially if you didn't know that space bar is how you draw a weapon or you attack all the time with a fist.. other than that, i am on my toes so far, the tension is there, and the sense of siege is also. really nice and fresh if you're looking for something between diablo and a more strategy/rpg feel. quests are nice too.

Retro Machina

good fun, simple yet refreshing

humble game, with pretty cool imaginative artwork, it has a good pace, between an action game and a puzzle/adventure. the plot is cute, and the characters also. but it isn't childish. recommended

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom

great nostalgia of the first wonderboy

much less sophsitaction than the previous release. this is more like the "Wonderboy in Monster Land" which is such a great game. the coin jingle is so satisfactory. that's how you make this game. the changing to monster is less my taste. but the game is real fun, and has a nice plot to go along(whihc you skip real fast). TL DR: buy it if you liked the arcade game. that's the real deal, so far.

ELEX II

Loved this

Now on endgame. The game delivers what it promised. I had lots of fun. If you are a gothic fan like me. Or elex 1 fan. You’ll like this very much. The story and the characters are as compelling as always with piranha games. The combat is fun. Abit more easy at times. But fun as always. It’s always abit different experience than the previous games. The different factions. The aliens artwork. The whole open world experience. The full immersion you get with PB games. That’s the thing. I have to say that elex and gothic are my favourite games. Risen I didn’t like so much(finished all3).

PLANET ALPHA

Superb psychedelic experience

I don't want to put spoilers here. so I can't tell much about the new concept of the game. I'm in chapter 6(8 total) around 2-3 hours of play. this is basically a semi difficulty platformer with very much graphic novel to it, although no words are spoken. its a mystery of the planet. its the bizarre creatures and life like plants and vegetations, its the fear from the unknown coming at you full speed. at first it had a slow start, but later on I would say it can contend with the difficulty levels of games like giana sisters(the new of course). the experience is wonderful always, because even if you die, or get stuck in a puzzle like problems you have no idea how to progress- the graphics and the atmosphere really back you up. I'm a sucker for such alien planets sci fi thing also. so if you are like me, love platformers, love bizarre sci fi plants and vegetations, flying whales, shootings, lasers, mystery of origins, you are gonna like this game. terrific and original. I don't want to even begin to imagine how much work to put all this detail to life. such hard work and such great results. amazing. thank you team 17, I still remember you back on the amiga days.

Gothic

The best in the series and in general

I think i've played and finished this game 6 times. it is without a doubt, the most immersive, fun and interesting games i've ever played. and I've played alot(45 years old gamer). for people who are just looking for graphics it might detract them, so they could try gothic 3, still an amazing beauty to behold even 15 years later. but gothic 1 is the source. it is the most complete of the series. the most thought of. everything is perfect. the developers of this game came up with a courageous gimmick for their games-in the beginning you get your arse kicked, so you are very very careful in the start, and later on you become so powerful, you're almost a god, and you can take back your damaged pride. which is great great satisfaction. its just that good. I love all thier games, and finished all of them. but this is the best there is. I enjoy this more than fallout 1,2. or planescape. the fun part of the game is finding how to trick your enemies, even if its fooling with the AI. its just fun. and its legit-without cheating.

Candle

play it until the end. its worth it.

this game is just another thing. besides the amazing artwork and the cool animations, there is just a general uniqueness that i exeprienced maybe in the era where shadow of the beast 2, came. I recommend it. I've finished it, it was one of the most unique gameplays of the last years. why? first of all it has this cool genre, that i haven't seen before, its not braid, but stylistically speaking only-its better. there are actual characters that you fill connected, and the end game is vicious. really great job by the developers, a humble modest approach to a superstitious kind of a game.
