I started to play War tales. I had to put my glasses on, (I am old), just to see the characters. The in-game zoom was of little help. I have been playing games since The Bard's Tale, and Sid Meirs's Pirates. In those games there was a rule book, to familiarize yourself with the game mechanics. Modern games do not have this. Guess they expect you to surf around You Tube to find the answers! Well, at my age, I don't have a lot of time to surf around to find the information I need just to play a game. I got Starfield, no guide book. However; I did find a great one on Amazon for forty bucks! So now, to play that game, I have spent 140 dollars. Never, never will I buy a game again; and I don't care how good it is, that does not have a simple game guide to walk you through the mechanics. Never, never again! Nuff said!
I played Hard West, and it was a great game. Hard West 2, wasn't made by the same maker. I thought it was, and snapped it up right when it came out. I did manage to play a couple of quests. The last one, not only frustrating, but kinda dumb. My group was almost wiped out, and the game designer, whoever it was, favored the bad guys. They would cast Jinx, on my guys, and when they did, they increased their hit points. So I chased this one bad guy around and around, until I had him surrounded. But then I would not have enough action points to actually shoot at him. When his turn came, he would cast jinx, and then run and hide. If I did get a shot, it would miss, because I was jinxed. It would be a good game, because it was made with Unity, if the designers would only give the good guys a chance. If it is upgraded, I would take another shot at it. Until then . . .
Fun; something we all need to have, and that is what I got out of this adventure. The only thing I think was missing: my wizard never could use spells 4 or 5, as there was nothing to choose. And another thing, there was no guide on how to play the game, so I had to guess what a lot of the game was about as far as mechanix were concerned. Other than that, I will play the game again, and hopefully the above issues will come to resolution!
