Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™

Pretty good adventure.

I love these old school point and click adventure games. I wish they made more of these indiana jones ones. I did the path where you team up with the girl, now I have to finish game solo to get parts of the adventure i missed.

Riven (1997)

Dissapointed

The game mechanics are good, They made game more open and larger (ok). The puzzles are harder, but the huge travel between notes makes it a chore. Everything else is worse and the story is awful. First, the theme and setting, they retconned the wife to be of some primitive natives/hippies named katra just to fit the story and try to imitate some mix of exagerated mystical version of native indians with carribean setting, when clearly sons of Atrus and her are not mixed race. (look like pure D'ni like their father Atrus and grandfather Ghen, which created this world lol). She can be from some other Age, but her face should match the D'ni. So many other plot wholes too. The world is not as cool and more like a mix of tropical and volacanic settings with the whole water colors feel of the 90s instead of the nice classic euro looking paintings feel of the first. The mysterty and magic feel of fantasy of the first one is gone. (The fad in the 90s with tropical savage tribe/hippies were everywhere, star trek had it too. ughh) Last, this brings me to the characters. They try to frame Ghen as evil because he wants to bring back his peoples culture and civilisation from destruction which were the people that made the whole point of these games, the tech linking books and worlds. They made Ghen evil because the way he could only accomplish this noble goal, is by opressing the natives or some other BS reason. TBH, after reading everthing and all accounts, once I read Ghens journal, I realised ghen was right in his words and got betrayed and lost much. My true ending would be to trap Artus in prisonbook, rape and kill the natives and take over from Ghen. Just to add insult to the creators. Thank God they left, and I'm not surprised the SJW comapony of Ubisoft took over.

Myst Masterpiece Edition

Great puzzle game. I love the style.

I love these type of puzzle exploring games. Only hard and unbearable puzzle was the subway thing in space ship age.. Not even a puzzle, just trial and error for like tons different combinations to find the exit. Thankg God we have access to walkthroughs for that kind of thing. Everything else is great and fun to solve. Puzzle exploring and beautiful images. I miss the old days. Also, It ran with no problems on my windows 10.
