After campaigning for years among various fan groups trying to get someone - ANYONE - to release this gem back into the marketplace, it is such a joy to finally see it available for purchase on gog. This game isn't a "blast from the past" for me, because I've never stopped playing it. I'm very happy that future generations of gamers can now discover it for themselves! SWAT 4 is, in my opinion, the absolute pinnacle of tactical shooters, a genre made popular by the earliest Rainbow 6 games; and while its forebears may have done a few things a little better on the tactical and storyline side, by the time you factor in the streamlined UI, intuitive controls, and remarkable AI found in SWAT 4, this game easily comes out on top of the (all too small) heap. I would have paid $39.99 for this game. Again. Without a second thought.
