ohhh come on ..f*you ... NOW you pull up on GOG after i have bought the game on steam???!!! I wanted to buy it on switch as next! Well whatever ... i think 40$ is still just under the value what the game deserves .... but f*you for the late release on GOG!! The game itself is a wonderful classical survival horror game. The atmosphere, which is the most important with a horror game like this, is jaw-droppingly great. The entire game has maybe 2 jumpscares which are pretty late in to the game and at that point you really dont expect them, genius design choice! The Story is not that great, deep and existential like SH2 but it does not matter, because the atmosphere is pulling the most of the weight here. Dialogue and voice acting is clumsy but extremely charming at the same time. There are maybe 2 characters in the whole game, that you meet and this was a great (ans also cheap ;) ) choice, because it really strengthens the isolated loneliness. The weapons are really creative, i love them. The Combat is janky but it has to be ... this is not Bayonetta. The game has no inventory management, just like the SH games, i liked this too. Inventory tetris is not scary, its annoying. I have seen that the game gets a lot of criticism for using a "RE - ink ribbon" style save system. I think this is a great system for building stakes and tension and this is probably the right choice here. On the other hand, old farts like me, who cant always plan a gameing session it is not ideal. I think a game suspend would solve this issue. You can suspend the game anytime, but it does not count as a save. If you die you go back to the last save. The game suspend is one of the things i really like with the switch. Tormented Souls was a frikkin blast to play after these long years of waiting for a great survival horror game! I will buy the game on switch too (if performance is ok) BUT F*you for coming late on GOG ... love you though...THX for the game! Give us costumes and a DLC!
