I played this game when I was younger and can't remember if I beat it. It was hard. I have replayed it a few times since them and with the help of the internet was able to complete it. 9 or 10 on most fronts. Bugs: Now I don't remember if the same issues were in the old version but I have had several crashes and soft locked myself a few times. Just now I was in Year 4 giving an item to Glottis but because of character placement he just kept trying to walk forward to run his scene but I was standing in the way and did not move, most of the time you move out of the way. Also I had a huge issue leaving the tattoo parlor once he was on the phone. Graphics: I have seen a people say they are unhappy the cutscenes were not updated, but while I was playing recently I was impressed how the cutscenes still hold up. The backgrounds and art in general is beautiful though the character models in come scenes are dated when running original graphics. But the cutscenes and background art didn't need an update since they are still good. Also their is a big difference between creating a few hundred models and replacing them over original rigging, and rebuilding cutscenes from the ground up. Controls: Controller is nice but using a mouse reveals thing easier since the cursor changes when you hover over things. This is not the case with the controller. It is a point and click after all. Puzzles: While somethings make sense and puzzles are solved in a logical fashion you often are just using any item you have on every clickable option until something works. If you are not paying attention and going through all speech trees you will have a hard time though as hints are spread throught chats. Writing: Great. A few times if you sequence break though NPCs will have options that dont make sense or weird circular logic that doesn't make sense even in game. I am talking about Year 3 mainly but I dont want to write spoliers.
Great visuals and writing but choices really dont matter. Any game over just restarts you before the fatal choice, other than that you can fail pretty much everything and it doesnt affect the story. Zero replay. Bought on Sale. Worth. woouldn't pay over $20
