This is one in a series of games with an empty open world that's "full" of repetitive tasks that give you 5% extra damage to the enemy if they're on fire, it's Tuesday, and you ate an orange in the last thirty minutes. Horizon Zero Dawn is another example of this type of game. It was cute when Assassin's Creed was the only game doing it, but it ends up being a real slog when faced down with the prospect of more.
