It's pretty much perfect. It has strategy, tactics, and a little bit of skill involved. There are just enough unit types so that there's no dominant strategy, everything has a counter and everything is a counter to something. Nothing could be added or taken away without breaking the balance of the game. I bought this the week it came out, when I was in college. My roommates and I, and later our friends, and later entire dorms on campus, got addicted to it. I wish there were a modern remake that would run natively on Mac or Linux, or in higher resolution, or something, but if this is the only version that exists of one of the all-time best games ever, you owe it to yourself to try it out.
