Doing a second playthrough in Polish (which I understand) with 34 mods and it's an incredible experience. The voice acting is just as good as with the English version - speciallly Geralt- and there are many little nuances in the dialogue that are unique to the language. This game is definately meant to be played on a pc and it is very well optimized for it and the graphics menu has many options. What else can I say, this is the best RPG ever made.
I bought this for the hunter bow and it was totally worth it. The bow handles very well, and is really powerful. I'm having a lot of fun with it.
This is a gorgeous game even for 2008 and it has some of the best set pieces I've ever seen in any game. Finished it on hard and it was tough expecially with the kbm. I recommend going on pcgamingwiki for the recommended tweaks. They don't completely fix the mouse problems but they help a lot. Also if you have a razer mouse like I do, turn the in-game mouse sensitivity of and then adjust via razer synapse. That will give the mouse an even better feel. I really like what they did in combat as far as the limb severing to kill the monsters, makes it more tense and frantic. The lighting is amazing and the sound design is comparable to Alien Isolation , it's just top notch. I normally don't buy console ports because of their inherent mouse problems but I'm glad I bought this game because it is an absolute masterpiece.
It's a pretty good game if you like crpgs with turn based combat, but I can't see myself replaying it. The story is ok even though I got a bummer ending. The combat is challenging and there is a lot of it, so you have to create a combat oriented party on higher difficulty. The dialogue is cool and I just with there was more of it , with more branches.
Played it with Dylan's mod and Real Africa SweetFX . The gameplay mechanics are pretty awesome and destructible physics are some of the best I've seen in any game. The quests get repetetive after while, and the voice acting is not very good. For whatever reason everyone talks very fast in a monotone voice. It's quite jarring and it breaks the immersion. The environments are very nicely done and the game looks good even today. Play it if you like the far cry formula and definitely play it with Dylan's mod.
I spent a lot of time trying to optimize this game, but the mouse controls are just awful. The mouse lag make shooting very difficult, this is typical of any lazy port. Weapons menu is unintuitive and you can immediately tell it was made for a console. The most glaring flaw in this game is the enemy AI. Probably the worst I have seen in any game. It's like watching clowns in a circus when you shoot at these guys.
