For 2005 this game is pretty impressive with it's physics and car damage engine. It's a little tricky to get running correctly on a modern system but with the proper research you can figure it out. Setting up controls for a controller is a little tricky, I have Accelerate and Decelerate set to the triggers like most modern racing games, those count as up and down in the menus, slightly inconvenient but nothing you can't get used to. This game runs smooth as butter on anything but the absolute most potato-computer setups. Basically anything made in the last 15 years should have no trouble playing this game at maximum settings
So I got this one for free because of some promotion or other idunno, I came to this page to see what I'm getting into, the reviews are all saying "Fixed Controls!? Worst game ever!" and, true, the controls are fixed but one thing that isn't mentioned here: full joystick support. at least for an Xbox controller. the game doesn't convey at all that you can even do that so I downloaded Joy2Key just for this game. after setting up the controls for that I realized the joystick inputs are combining with the Joy2Key inputs. After Turning J2K off I realized the pre set controls for this on an Xbox controller are nice. A and X for punch, Y and B for kick, Right bumper is coin insert, Start is, well, start. The controls work. Other than that the game itself is pretty awesome, I love a good SNK fighter. if you like street fighter and wish it had a team-style mechanic this game is pretty great, I'd rate it higher but the whole "controls" thing bumps it down. So if you have an Xbox Controller hooked up to your PC just use that. Idunno about other Controllers though.
The toughness! It's ingeniously built, and every detail is very well thought of. It only took me about 30 something deaths to stop loving the guy's death and rise again, a total BADASS! the game play is action packed, and full of enemies, but to prevail, you must learn it's rythem and surroundings to prevail. It's provocative, and THAT'S what I love about it! that's the 90's SEGA genesis / Arcade kinda thing that makes me love games like Kid Chameleon, VectorMan, Comix Zone, and the likes.
