Tl;dr it's a good time, go for it. This game is a refreshing take on the Soulslike genre, adding the Morph mechanic that turns the game into an interesting experience. The studio is a clearly talented crew with good imagination, good ideas on what makes a good level, good enemy placement, and how to combine player actions to make some fun interactions mid-combat. The narrative is dense and loaded with concepts that got me reading item descriptions and, in the end, got me hooked into this neo-gothic sci-fi-ish dark fantasy world that hangs between death and immortality. If only they got more time to better flesh out these concepts through exploration and character's memories. But it feels a bit short, as if the studio left room for further experimentation. The morphing mechanic is at the same time a really fun power trip and it turns some of the most tense encounters too easy for my taste. The only truly difficult fight was the very last one, which had me thinking on how could a hard-but-fair area with a full roster ready to morph to their heart's content would play. Maybe the expansion will give me the answer.
