Action is meaty, presentation is flashy and colorful, and the loot is plenty. Plot is non existent, but that's not what you're here for. Falls apart a little in the late game- levels become too long and monotonous, enemies too spongy, and the final boss is a slog. But still- an enjoyable experience.
I see this game trying to do everything it should, but it still didn't click with me. I didn't really care about any of the characters and got annoyed by their actions most of the time. Which is a real shame, because game has nice illustrations, nice voice acting (girls don't try to scream like in typical anime, which I deeply appreciate) and several endings offer quite different conclusions to the story. But in the end characters end up more bland and stereotypical, than believable, and all the moment that were designed to touch me, didn't in the slightest. Maybe it's only my personal experience, and it may click with you. But if it won't during first couple of hours, you probably better off not investing 20 hours it takes to finish this VN.
Story is tight, it has only 3 main characters, and it takes around one evening to complete. But for me it was one tense evening, in which I couldn't let go and had to find out what will happen next. If you want to see all endings it may take you another 1-2 evenings to see everything this VN has to offer. Drawings are nice and music musics fits the senes nicely. Too bad there's no voice over. Characters are mostly relatable, and it's easy to bond with them and care about their fate. Wasn't disappointed, solid one evening experience.
It mixes elements of RPG and strategy game. It's not an action game- your dragon moves slowly, casting spells and using abilities takes time. Agile flying while dodging enemy attacks is not a name of this game. Best approach is usually slow and steady- inflict damage, retreat, heal up, repeat. Gameplay becomes more and more slow and repeatable with time, it may bore some people. In exchange you get interesting third person strategy, and satisfying RPG elements. Later in game, you unlock much more powerful abilities, that gives you feeling of power. Game also features few missions, where you control a land unit instead of your dragon- just skip them with cheat codes, they are awful.
