The Bard's Tale Trilogy

Great Remaster

If you are looking for 80's CRPG experience but with some quality of life improvements. Here you go. It would be great if they remastered the old Bards Tale Tools so people could make their own versions. Otherwise , it's pretty much exactly as advertised.

Predynastic Egypt

Chill After-Work Game.

I once heard the term "Beer and Pretzels Game" to describe casual strategy. This game fits the bill. If you are looking for something along the lines of a Paradox Game or Civilization, then this game is not for you. But if you are tired after a long day and you just want to chill out while having a whiskey or half watching a sports game in the background, then this is the game for you. In particular the art style, music and tutorial are all strong points. Sit back relax and learn a little about a part of history not often covered in detail. (Pre-Dynastic Egypt.)

Dead Age

Potentail and Frustration

I wanted to like this game and I did. Good characters and casual nature. However, the autosave Ironman aspect of makes you learn through starting over and over again. I don't mind unforgiving, but the save system is purposefully enraging. Unclear direction and unforgiving save system makes for a bad game. This game will reward those that have the time to get past the flaw. For me, too much other stuff out there.

Yes, Your Grace

Bleak, boring and random

Hello, It breaks my heart to report this isn't a good game. It really tried hard. But here are some criticisms... Spoiler ahead - Interesting characters...bad story. The game starts out with your kingdom in a bad way and makes a bunch of dumb decisions. Why do you not have any resources? What happened? How does this other dude have a huge army and you have like 22 guys? - Bleak as hell. I didn't play games to have my daughter get killed by virua- Joffrey. Or do have a cat get skinned. Screw that. The tone is way off compared to the advertising. Life is hard enough. -. Finally, there is little grasp as to the consequences of my decisions. What am I building to? What are some benchmark numbers? You are sort blindly choosing priorities hoping it pays off. No real strategic satisfaction. - Did I mention you are forced to sell your 13 year old daughter and they skin her cat? That's fun. Love that guys! At least the music was good. Save you money. Pet a real cat. Play better games.
