Good game, great graphics, sound, controls etc. Seems to have everything including great music. The biggest problem is no tactical pause. So you have a graphically beautiful game, with lots going on, but litle chance to appreciate it. Some people like this, some really don't. This decision keeps the game from being great. So if tactical pause is important, skip this title as it can be very frustrating, if not, it is worth a look.
I enjoyed this game. The characters were voice acted very well. The personalities were well developed during the game and gave you a feeling of a crew with diverse backgrounds, sometimes at odds with each other but mission by mission coming together to form a team. At the beginning your not sure what to expect, but toward the end of the game your start to care about your team. I like that in a game, it feels like real life. I thought the missions were fun as well as the combat. The ability to leave your main ship and land on the surface of a planet and deal with a problem was well done. Most space games I have allow you to deal with planet wide problems from your ship and you don't get to go planet side. Graphics are what you would expect for the time period this game was produced but still hold up pretty well today. My only two negative comments on this game are. 1) The game leaves you begging for a squeal, or at least it did me. 2) The main ship you live on and travel through space in, is really well done, lots of tech areas and panels you can open. However, very little can be done with the tech you see. It would have been much more immersing if the computer screens connected to a data base or the co-pilots controls actually did something, to me a missed opportunity. Nevertheless, the game is a good ride, still.
