This game is great -- I used to play it years ago and really enjoyed the challenge of trying to solve the puzzles. I recently wanted to play it again on a newer PC than the original title was created for -- that being a Windows XP machine. Upon first install, I would get an error and the game would shut down (the error that prompts to send/don't sent report). A solution to getting past this error that I found to work -- for the most part -- is the following: I uninstalled my version of QuickTime and installed Myst along with the QuickTime Lite that it prompts you to install once Myst has finished installing. This alone does not fix the error but if you go to your newly installed QuickTime; Start > All Programs > QT Lite > Configuration, head over to the Advanced tab, and under Video select Safe Mode and then relaunch Myst and that should do it. Note however, I ran into some issues once getting to the land of the windmill. I would just reload the game but it seems to crash at times in that area. Save often! I thought I would share in case others were having issue with Windows XP.
