I'm glad that they decided to remake it. I had the original for my Amiga 500 and I always thought that it was a missed opportunity from team17. I'm just glad that I ignored the first negative reviews and bought it, albeit in discount. The game looks and feels the same, but it's not. It's an balanced re-interpretation of the original, with controls that responds accurately to your commands, unlike the stiff mess that was the original. The redo of the graphics also helps the game to look like a modern game that is going for the retro vibe, so if you' re not aware of it's origin, you might believe it's new. The game is also tailored to the current trend of speed runs, since it does not require to gather a certain number of coins to pass a stage, making the difficulty level manageable for everyone. The inclusion of the original levels as unlockables, is also a good strategy. So if you having problems to complete them in the original version that's available in the store, here's your chance to see them through in this version with the better handling of your character's sprite. The only slight problem comes for the zooming of the camera. It's not enough to cause any significant trouble, but it's not ideal. Overall, the game is recommended, if you fancy remakes of games past. If you're not but still like platforms, wait for a discount.
