I had a love/ hate relationship with Kingmaker, and bought this game the day that it was released (against my better judgment). Overall I do like this game. It feels less "alive" to me than Kingmaker, but maybe because I'm only 8 hours in to the story. A bug is preventing at least one of the maps from loading, for me. Hopefully that bug will be fixed eventually (fingers crossed).
Controls feel like XCOM, but this game is stealth (it's possibly to finish a mission without killing or even KOing any enemies). Not much story - there's only 2 cutscenes, one at the beginning and another at the very end. The default "campaign" is 72 hours, which gives you enough time to run ~9 missions before the final mission triggers. Maps are procedurally generated, so they're never the same.
This game was obviously made by people who enjoyed Fallout 1 and 2, but for whatever reason I didn't really enjoy it. I'm not even sure what was missing - maybe I was expecting the quests to feel more epic, or maybe the characters just don't come alive for me.
Gameplay: A mix of Divinity: Original Sin, XCOM, and the original Fallout games. AI (Pathfinding): Atrocious Music: Sets the mood well, I thought. Graphics: Mediocre Overall: I'm not hooked, but I never got in to Wasteland 2. Maybe the game gets better, I guess I'll see.
Story: I've only watched the first episode of the show, but this seems to contain spoilers. The story is told comic panel style, after certain missions. Gameplay: Closest match I would say would be Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Encounters tend to be 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5. Gelflings have a 3 basic job types, each of those has 2 sub jobs, and there are 3 prestige jobs, for a total of 12 different jobs. Fizzgigs each have their own job, while the podling has 5 different jobs to choose from. Challenge encounters basically let you replay a map with generic enemies, to continue to level your characters or to level characters that you don't normally use.
I enjoyed this game a lot. There's no real combat, but otherwise it's very similar to the Torment games (Planescape and Tides of Numenera). If you liked either of those games, then I strongly recommend this one. That being said, I don't find the game to have a lot of replay value. I'll refrain from saying anything else, as I definitely don't want to spoil it for anyone.
